I've Made Some Decisions...

The ladies chillin' in the shade.
So, I think I'm going to do this in stages. I obviously can't blog about my entire day every night because I'm either exhausted or I don't have any internet access. I have a TON of material and not enough time to write it in (I learned the hard way that writing in the van makes me carsick). Thus, I think I'm going to let go writing down the whole story daily, which I've been stressing out about, and write the full story after the fact. That way I can give full justice to each day. Though I do have to share a bit about my day today.

Today I went to the Royal Stables and the New Hope Center. The Royal Stables are an Arab horse breeding stable that focuses on maintaining the bloodlines of the foundation mares and stallions of the Jordanian stables. The horses are amazing and I'll post a ton of pictures of them (and I want to go live in one of the stalls just to hang around this incredible place, but I'd probably be arrested), though I don't have time to give them full justice. I will in the future, however.

The New Hope Center is an extension of the Princess Alia Foundation (which I'll go into more detail about in a later post) that gives refuge to animals that are confiscated or abandoned due to various factors. At the moment they have five lions, two crocodiles (that got there today!), two monkeys, five hyenas (striped, not spotted), various Arabian wolves, four dogs, a bunch of rabbits, and a wonderful Syrian brown bear named Baloo. The place was AMAZING and I took a BUNCH of pictures... but I'm to tired to post them now (I'm basically misspelling every other word). I will put up one or two though to give you an idea of what my day was like.

Hlayyil Ramadan, the champion stallion

All right. I'm exhausted (par for the course), so I'm heading to bed. Tomorrow is Petra, the next day is Wadi Rum, then Dana, Fenyan, the Mujib trail, then the Dead Sea. Don't worry... I'll keep you posted as to where I am when I have wifi.

Here's a funny little song for you to enjoy inspired by my forays into the desert; please ignore the ridiculous models.

Now I'm tucking myself into bed. Good night and...

Cheers!
